Our goal is to inform and empower you to make the best decision for you and your family. We offer a complimentary consultation without a commitment to care. So you have nothing to lose—except for the pain that is keeping you from living your optimal life. To make an appointment for a no-pressure conversation, please contact us at (949) 263-0270.

Examination

We pride ourselves on developing an individualized care plan for each patient. Our customized approach includes performing an advanced and complete orthopedic, neurological, and chiropractic examination to uncover the causes of your health concerns.

Therapeutic Massage

Shekarriz Family Chiropractic

Massage therapy focuses on the muscles, fasciae, and surrounding tissues, easing pain, stiffness, and fatigue, reducing muscle tension, and promoting flexibility to prevent further injury. Modern lifestyles tend to have a detrimental effect on the muscular skeletal system.

Most of us spend extended amounts of time sitting behind a desk or standing up at work for long hours, which will shorten or lengthen the muscle fibers. Massage can help relieve day-to-day stiffness and pain, repetitive strain injury, tension and fatigue.

If you have tired, sore muscles resulting from stress or even injury, your massage therapist can customize a progressive massage therapy program to meet your specific wellness needs to reduce pain, increase range of motion, and bring overall improvement to the way your body moves and functions.

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Cold Laser Therapy is healing with the use of light. This therapy is not new and was reported to be effective for many conditions by Hippocrates. LLLT has been in medical use for over 30 years and has a long record of successful clinical studies demonstrating medical efficacy and safety.

LLLT is a painless, sterile, non-invasive, drug-free treatment used to improve tissue repair and to reduce acute and chronic pain and inflammation. Cold Laser has been used for many years on sports injuries, arthritic joints, and neurological and pathological conditions.

Around the world, laser therapy is rapidly becoming a medical therapy that can heal wounds and fractures up to 60 percent faster. In the UK, LLLT has become the treatment of choice for soft tissue whiplash injuries and treatment of painful post-herpetic neuralgia (shingles pain).

Microlight was the first company with FDA clearance to market low-level laser therapy (“LLLT”). This laser is used for the non-surgical treatment of pain through adjunctive therapy in patients who suffer with various syndromes.

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
  • Temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain.
  • Arthritis and muscle spasm.
  • Temporary relief of stiffness and promotion of muscle tissue relaxation.
  • Temporary increase of local blood circulation allowing patients to have an alternative to drugs and surgery.

Laser treatments take just minutes depending on the condition being treated. LLLT supplies energy to the body in the form of non-thermal photons of lights. These lasers emit no heat, sound, or vibration. During a course of treatment, you don’t feel anything. Instead of generating a thermal effect, LLLT acts by inducing a photochemical reaction in the cell, a process referred to as bio-stimulation or photo-biomodulation, including increased cell metabolism and improved cell metabolism. It also improves blood circulation and vasodilation and has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Combined with chiropractic care, cold laser can aid in treating muscle, bone, tendon, ligament, neurological dysfunction or damage, connective tissue, or skin tissue. Patients generally see results after two to five treatments. Dr. Shekarriz will develop a treatment plan that is optimal for your condition.

The Electrical Muscle Stimulation

Electronic muscle stimulation (EMS), also known as neuromuscular electrical stimulation or electromyostimulation, is another type of treatment. It works by elicitation of muscle contraction using electric impulses generated by a device and delivered through electrodes placed on the skin near to the muscles being stimulated. The electrodes are generally pads that adhere to the skin. The impulses mimic the action potential that comes from the central nervous system, causing the muscles to contract.

Uses of EMS

  • EMS is often used for several conditions, including relaxing muscle spasms, helping to prevent and retard atrophy from disuse of certain muscles (especially post-surgery or post-traumatic) by stimulating the muscles, increasing or maintaining range of motion, and increasing local circulation.
  • It also helps alleviate acute or chronic pain and inflammation. At high voltage stimulation, it helps with wound healing by changing the type of cells near the wound and speeding up the healing process.
  • EMS also has been utilized as a strength training tool for healthy subjects and athletes or rehabilitation and a preventive tool for partially or immobilized patients.

In the United States, EMS devices are regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Patient Education

The more patients learn about their bodies, the better equipped they will be to take care of themselves and to improve the quality of their lives. That’s why we take our time to teach our patients the right exercises appropriate for their conditions based on their needs so they can achieve optimal health with full functionality.

We also give nutritional recommendations to complement their care so they can reach their health and wellness goals. Our educational approach empowers and teaches them to take control of their recovery and lifelong wellness, thereby decreasing the need for future care.

When I first came to Dr. Shekkariz, I wasn’t aware that I needed a lot of corrections in my posture, but now after a couple of months of seeing Dr. Dela, I’ve seen dramatic improvement in my posture, which has reduced my back pain and improved my overall health and well-being.

Logan Willis

I have a really bad lower back due to a childhood Injury. Dr. Dela and team were able to almost eliminate all pain, and they gave me the ability to fully function on a day-to-day basis. At first, I was very skeptical that the treatment would help, but after sticking to it, my back is in the best shape of my life! I could not recommend their care enough!

Aygin T.

It’s only been five days, and I have already improved! At first, I wasn’t sure about this type of chiropractic care. But now I tell everyone about how gentle and effective this technique is. I can’t believe my neck pain has disappeared, and my back pain has improved by 50 percent. I’m so pleased with the care I’ve received.

10/10 recommendation.

Dr. Dela is wonderful! One of her most impressive attributes is the amount of quality time she spends with her patients. Dr. Dela really listens to their needs. I am being treated for acute bilateral shoulder pain that has been an issue for many months. I was first sent for physical therapy, which I am sure helped strengthen the muscles, but I was still experiencing pain and sleepless nights. With her use of the Activator each visit followed by the G5, I have had continuous relief. She also gave me intermittent cold laser and muscle stimulator treatments as well. She is a very caring and professional doctor, and I highly recommend her to others! Her office staff is accommodating and pleasant, and they always greet me with a smile.
